Painted Bronze
A series of stacked pillow forms cast in bronze, arranged in a narrow corridor at a light rail stop. An urban installation Zen garden, intended to incite pause, converting a place of passage into a place to wait. It is my intention to combine imagery and materials in unexpected ways evoking a sense of wonderment in both passersby and streetcar riders. This work harkens to the timeless American love affairs with wandering. It marries travel and site, possibility, waiting, wondering, wandering and resting.
